The Challenge
Modern media is fractured. Readers are trapped in echo chambers, and synthesizing multiple perspectives into an objective truth is nearly impossible without human bias. The challenge was to build a fully automated media engine that could ingest polarized news sources and output a single, objective, fact-based brief with zero human intervention.

The Verification Layer
Automated news aggregators often fail by linking to broken URLs, paywalled sites, or single-source echo chambers. To eliminate this, we built a dynamic verification layer. Instead of linking to a single article, the 'Read Brief' button utilizes encodeURIComponent on the article headline in Next.js to generate a direct Google News search query. This empowers the reader to instantly see every outlet reporting on the event, removing the black box feeling of AI and adding a layer of journalistic verification.
Engineering Deep Dive
Ingestion Engine
- Custom Node.js RSS parser with Regex-based XML/HTML extraction.
- HTML entity decoder to strip rogue characters before database entry.
Synthesis Engine
- Temperature Lock (0.1) to force deterministic logic over creative writing.
- Idempotency Lock to prevent duplicate daily cron runs.
- Date Injection to reject historical hallucinations.
The Verification Layer
- Dynamic Google News search generation using encodeURIComponent.

The Impact
